"We are familiar with the location, being former Whangarei residents. Distance from town is immaterial especially as our business was in the Kamo area. Comparison with 3 other locations we have stayed in previously, Lupton was exceptional"

"The Lodge was in a nice location, rooms were large, the beds were very comfortable and it had a great shower.it was nice to have breakfast included which we all enjoyed. It is the perfect location for a peaceful getaway. We would definitely stay again."

"After a busy day of driving from Hokitika, we decided to split our drive to Kaikoura by staying at this hotel for one evening. Upon check-in the young woman clearly explained the restaurant hours, breakfast plan and how to use the outdoor jacuzzi which we definitely utilized for star-gazing later that evening. Since the hotel is literally in the middle of mountains and valleys and rivers, the views from the hotel/restaurant/villa were fantastic. We spent a few hours star-gazing the Milky Way which is our passion and one of the objectives for staying here for the evening. Given the hotel's location, the restaurant menu was quite limited which is a shame but understood given its remoteness. Lovely stay and would definitely recommend this hotel for those considering....."
