"Staff are friendly and helpful. It has a nice old world atmosphere and rooms are a good size. Importantly the split system air conditioning worked although struggled a bit during the hottest part of the day. February is the hottest month typically 31c with high humidity."

The position is good for island ferry services although most don’t run in the off season but it is a long 30 minute hot walk to the main shopping area. The owners of the hotel do have a shop next door which also has a liquor store. The included breakfast was fixed at either eggs some days or pancakes others. Perhaps there is more choice during the main tourist season.

"I loved that it was nestled in its own private space. There are 4 lodges in the vicinity and all have their own balcony’s that you can enjoy individually. Our water pressure was great. Also the unit was nice and clean."

Nothing: We actually didn’t book the transfers cause we had another vehicle organised however that fell through. But mama let us go first to the lodge and she’d wait at the airport. Lucky she got a ride back home from the family at airport. She has an immense amount of responsibility and knowledge of the island. As a local to Rarotonga people like her are very rare to be around. "Exceptional environment, well-kept, among the trees, calm, peaceful. The cottages are built in such a way that they have a pleasant temperature without air conditioning or fans. At night, for the first time in Gambia, I had to cover myself with a duvet. The owner and staff were extremely kind, accommodating, unobtrusive."

"It was lovely staying in a traditional house in Kakopetria & being able to hear the river from our room. A lovely breakfast of cereals, toast, eggs, cheese, yoghurt, olives & cold meats (if you eat them) was provided. It was in a great location in the old town."

The bed was a bit soft for us, and it would have been nice to have a rug on the cold floor - we were there in March.

"This lodge is exceptional. It is well maintained and immaculate as far as the grounds are concerned. There is a nearby waterhole frequented by a range of different animals. The seating area to watch the animals at the watering hole couldn't have been better placed. We didn't have much time in this lodge to fully appreciate all that it had to offer. There was a lively pool and extra treats like foot spas. Unfortunately we didn't get the opportunity to try these out."

The food was exceptional. Unfortunately vegetarians are not given a very imaginative alternative to either meat or fish. I loved the freshness of the ingredients but a more creative option for a non-meat/fish eater would have definitely improved this experience.

"Beautiful views of Apia. We literally had the whole place to ourselves. It provided a calm quiet space that we didn't expect."

Unfortunately there were a few minor issues when we arrived, that eventually got sorted. Given the circumstances of the week prior & sending our condolences to the family, I'm not surprised things were a little off the mark. A broom in the unit be great to keep the floors free of bugs & dirt. We still loved our stay regardless.

"It is a unique carribean cottage, which is a little gem. It is a five minute walk to a lovely beach. We cooked in as the kitchen had everything one required. We had our meal out on the verandah next to the kitchen and watched the sunset. Sabina is a wonderful hostess. When we arrived she tried to book as into a restaurant but it was full so she took us to the local supermarket to ensure we would have a good meal. Keith was also really helpful and a great guy. We wished we had booked it for longer."

"It was quirky and a lovely cosy space to base ourselves. Very close to the airport and next to the harbour in the town. It was very clean and had everything we needed. The loft bed was something different too and cosy and comfortable. The owner was great and friendly. We had absolutely no issues and hope to go again someday."

Еда в ресторане не блещет разнообразием, но ОЧЕНЬ достойная. Морепродукты, естественно, свежайшие, каждый день! Отдельные слова благодарности хозяйке! За почти 30 лет путешествий по миру было очень немного мест, где хозяин лично встречает и провожает гостей, и каждый день интересуется настроением и возможными вопросами к проживанию. "The room was beautiful opening up to a sea view. Could go kayaking from just outside the room. The lodge had kayaks and life jackets available to guests. Could also go fishing or swimming - just idyllic! The staff were also really helpful. I would most definitely stay here again."
