"The room is clean and huge in size. Even the location is good for accessing shops and restaurant and not far from the center."

As I enter the room, there is a strong smell of smoke. They need to ensure that the room is properly ventilated so that the smoke odour doesn't linger. Additionally, they don't provide soap or shampoo in the bathroom. It can also be quite exhausting to stay in a hotel with steep stairs and no elevator.

Weddings on weekends. If you prefer peace and quiet, make sure you don’t book over the weekend.

We had a beautiful room with private bathroom, and shared access to a sitting room, kitchen facilities and terrace. It is self-catering, but the hosts will order bread to be delivered in the morning for you, or they’ll order a pizza delivery in the evening. There is an outdoor cafe/bar. The place is bustling, interesting and entertaining. Lamego is a beautiful city with many interesting buildings."

Nothing to dislike at all.

"The hotel was stunning! Set in the jungle and in beautiful wooden cabins, it feels like low-key luxury. The restaurant was lovely, it’s quite popular on the island but the staff make sure hotel guests get good tables and are catered for. It’s very very quiet, so if you are looking for relaxation it’s perfect. The grounds are beautifully curated, it feels like you are staying in a botanical garden. The general manager was a gem, he sorted out a small issue with our room very quickly and was so hospitable for the rest of our stay, he couldn’t do enough to help. Can’t wait to go back one day!"

Some people would take issue not having AC, but it’s definitely cool enough and there is no reason to have them.

I didn't receive the room what I booked. During my stay(4 days), nobody came in to clean or to take the garbage. Didn't worth the price.

Photos of the room while booking was different from the room which we got, so were a bit upset about it.

"Awesome host. I couldn’t believe the photos from the previous reviews but it’s true, all the photos you see are truly about a 10 step walk from the bedrooms. Simple, but incredible place to stay. The host will make sure you’re well looked after, help you with the tours/ self guided tours nearby and is very helpful with transport knowledge. We loved this place! I will say, if you’re vegan or veggie it’s hard to find food nearby, so maybe ask the host in advance if you can cook some simple food. They let us cook noodles ❤️❤️"

The bedroom and bathroom are huge—honestly, it’s one of the most spacious bathrooms I’ve ever seen, and the hydromassage tub was a fantastic bonus! It would be perfect for families . The host is absolutely amazing; he went above and beyond by storing our luggage and even driving us to the city center. He was so helpful with everything."

Perfect for this solo traveller.

"If you're visiting Malta this is an excellent place to stay. Sliema itself is a bustling harbour town with plenty bars, cafes, shops within ten minutes walk of hotel. Also within ten minutes walk is the harbour where you can book boat trips to Gozo and blue lagoon, and get a ferry to Valetta which takes ten minutes in itself (or around 8 euros in a Bolt) if you book a boat trip through Viator make sure this pickup point in Sliema is your closest one on Google maps. It'll be much more convenient. Facilities basic but clean and comfortable. Free bottled water at reception and coffee machine at reception. Some toilets aren't in the bedrooms but are very close and robes etc are provided. Would recommend."

Only thing is the busy road lots of noisy bikes so take some silicone ear plugs for at night if you're a sensitive sleeper. Although I slept okay most nights, and this will affect most hotels in the area.
