"However, the central heating system was quite disappointing. It wasn’t turned on until around 12 midnight , and then kept switching on and off throughout the night, which made the room alternately too hot and too cold. I ended up catching a cold the next day, which really affected the experience."

"Staff were excellent. One item came up and it was taken care of quickly. Staff also gave us a choice of two rooms. The room was as per the pictures and the bed was very comfy. I can't wait to stay there again. So comfortable and homey and the location was great. It was a quiet time of the year but it seemed like it would be reasonably quiet even in high season."

"Someone forgot to finish cleaning the kettle and coffee machine but this may have been due to our room upgrade as we were originally booked in another room and changed upon arrival. It was corrected quickly so no big deal."

"A nice and comfy hotel downtown Nelson. We had room marble which was great and had all it needs for a good stay. Hotel is close to the street with good restaurants. We loved the style of the house."

"We were in the Willow suite. My adult son joined us and used the pull out in the living room, which he said was very comfortable. The property is very nicely restored and well equipped . It is comfortable, has good linens, comfortable beds, is very clean and has unique little articles of decor without being cluttered. The best feature was the little sunroom at the front which appears to have been converted from a veranda. We were able to enter and exit through this entry rather than go through the lobby. On exit, there is a nice deck with outdoor furniture, where we had our self provided happy hour one day and breakfast the next."

"Only one minor thing... the location of the (very adequate) bathroom requires whoever is occupying the pullout bed to go through the master bedroom. However, this wouldn't stop me from booking this suite again."

"Great location close to downtown but quiet area. Spacious bedroom with a nice separate private sitting room. Very clean and large barhroom well stock. . Overall, we enjoyed it. Very close to the best coffee shop."
